Having grown up in Hackney, East London; Simone Williams is no stranger to hard work and the harsh realities of London life. She started designing from a young age, making dolls clothes for her school friends. From dolls clothes to ladies wear Simone is gradually becoming an established designer on the London fashion scene. Getting her name out there has been the toughest challenge for this new designer, though once people view her collections the positive responses make all the hard work worth it.
The Simone Williams fashion label has been up and running since the summer of 2004 and is based in Hoxton, London.
Simone Williams past collections have had an urban street wear theme where she used a combination of fabrics such as denim and leather. She also used leather strips and belts integrated with other fabrics. This has become her signature style.
Ronke Lawal manages the business and marketing aspect of Simone Williams label -I envisage a future so bright and promising that it excites me to be part of this fantastic fashion label and continually looks to develop the label in every aspect. Its about pushing boundaries and realising what is possible through determination and passion, with this anything is indeed possible. Ronke Lawal also owns and runs RSL Management Services a business development company.
This partnership is the foundation for what will definitely be an exciting and successful name in national and international fashion.
The Simone Williams label is highly sought after by stylists and their celebrity clients including Helen McCroy (Harry Potter & Casanova), Rachel Ritfield (model) and Lisa Maffia (Singer). The label was showcased in Kulture 2 Couture 2006 in association with the Mayor of London’s office and the V&A. The label exhibited at Fashion Expo in 2008. The label has enjoyed a wide range of media coverage including features in Galrilla, Touch, The Voice, Black Hair Magazine, Black Hair & Beauty, Total:Spec and Aspire.
The Simone Williams label was showcased in the Kulture 2 Couture fashion event in association with The Mayor of London’s office and the V & A in November 2006. The label has also been featured in Touch Magazine, Total:Spec and Aspire amongst other publications. Worn by Helen McCroy (Harry Potter and Casanova), Lisa Maffia (singer) and Anya (Finalist: Make me a supermodel – C5) the label is gradually enjoying increased media and press exposure.
